Short break in Oxfordshire. - Thursday 11/4/24
Had a few days in the West Country visiting relatives so decided to visit Didcot on the way home. My wife had travelled down to Cornwall several days earlier on the National Express to visit her daughter while I stayed at home due to work committments.
Her daughter brought her up to Okehampton on the Wednesday where she stayed in a hotel and I travelled down on the Thursday to collecte her.
Taking a leisurely route home, we stopped for the night at The Smugglers Inn, right on the seafront at Blue Anchor Bay near Minehead.
Next day we stopped at Bridgewater for a bit of shopping and then Glastonbury, which reminded me a little of Totnes, I suppose because of the 'hippy' feel to it, and the pervading smell of incense.
That night we stayed at Farmhouse Inn, Trowbridge, and the next day visited The Didcot Railway Museum. Didcot is primarily dedicated to The Great Western Railway engineered by I K Brunel.
