Thoughts and musings of an old codger.

First trip of the year   - Sunday 10-4-2022

Spring has sprung and we have been itching to get Gulliver out on the road for another trip somewhere. We decided to go to Wales this time.
Starting in the south we planned to travel up the coast and then spend a few days in Snowdonia before returning via Shropshire and Buckinghamshire.
A seven hour drive from home took us to our first overnight stop in Caerphilly, at a pub called The Pontygwindy. We had a few pints and meal, staying the night in their carpark.

The next morning we set off for The Gower Penninsular and spent a few days taking in the beautifull scenery.
We stopped at Oxwych Bay for the night. Despite the fact it was Easter week, and the weather was glorious, there were surprisingly few people around.

Next day the weather was still loveley. Drove up onto Fairy Hill and found a nice place to have breakfast where there were Lovely views over to Lianelli in the distance.

After a leisurly day taking in the scenery we stopped at a pub for a drink.

Despite the sunshine during the day there is still a bit of a nip in the air come the evening, so we were gratefull to find this lovely fire. The next day we went to Rhossilli, and walked out to The Worms Head Causeway.
Decided not to walk down to the beach though as it looks a bit far, not to mention steep!

We spoke to some people in the carpark with a VW pop top camper. They showed us the inside and we have decided Gulliver definately has to have one.

In the afternoon we went over to The Mumbles for a look around and then back to our stop for the night at a campsite this time.

Tomorrow we are going to head up into The Elan Valley and stop for the night at Devils Bridge, in another pub carpark.
